PPZ0 – 48 hour challenge
by Tifu on Aug.03, 2010, under Challenges, Quick Games
Seeing as there was no Tigsource challenge last month, and I have found the things to be good for practice, I decided to challenge myself to make a Powerpuff Z game in 48 hours. I went a little over the time, but the extra time was mostly just tidying up the graphics a little, not the main bulk of the game code. Its got working AI, specials, beams, blasts, three playable Powerpuffs and one snow covered level.

The second ‘Monthly Unofficial Tigsource Thunderdome Jam’ is over, once again there were very few entries despite the fairly large volume of forum interest. Very odd. The theme this time was ‘Everything is Ruined Forever’ so I made a platform game where the world blows up. A lot.
Controls: —————————
Left/Right – Move
Up/Down – Increase/Decrease radius of weapon’s rotation
Up – Talk/Read [?] boxes
Z – Jump (and Double Jump)
X – Fire weapon
C – If energy is full, power up

The first ‘Monthly Unofficial Tigsource Thunderdome Jam’ was this weekend, a 48 hour game development challenge, and the theme was, alas, “Giant Naked Men” – despite this, I decided to enter and came up with the idea of making a tower defence game with giant greek statues attacking cities…
Gluttony – a scrapped game

Decided to post an unfinished game onto the forums, it’s a snake game that started off just experimenting with AI and I started coding little puzzle elements into the game. Not too happy with how things were going so stopped work on it. But it has 50 complete levels you can play in.

Samurai Girl is a quick little game I created. It’s a pretty simple platform game concept, you control a girl who can run and jump and hit blocks with her head to get coins and power-ups. You run through three worlds, each with three levels and a boss fight. Pretty standard platformer idea.
The only real twist, is that this is a platform game that you play with the mouse!
By moving the mouse to the left of the character, she will run left – the further left the mouse is, the faster she will run. By moving the mouse to the right fo the character, she will run right – the further right the mouse is, the faster she will run. Left click is used to fire shurikens (if you have picked up any) and right click is used to jump. You can jump on most monsters.
